JULY 2025

Supporting the Arts in Orange County

Through the generosity of three legacy funds — the Jane Deming Fund, the Marshall Fund for Dramatic Arts and Classical Music and the San Clemente History, Arts & Culture Endowed fund — in June, OCCF granted $118,000 to 24 local arts nonprofits!

These grants provided support for a variety of programs including music education programs for youth, upcoming musical concerts in Orange County available to the public, and youth theater programs. We are grateful to the donors who have entrusted us with their philanthropic legacies for the benefit of the Orange County community.

Summer Extravaganza 25

Empowering Families through Community Support

Wings of Kindness | Alas de Bondad, a nonprofit based in Anaheim, is dedicated to uplifting families, especially women and children, by addressing basic needs that often go unmet. Their Summer Extravaganza + Backpack Giveaway is a lively event designed to prepare families for the school year while fostering community connections.

The event features backpack distribution with essential school supplies for students, free haircuts for children, food, activities, coupons and free items from local businesses and access to resources for housing, utility assistance, health services, and more.

Last year, the event successfully distributed 500 backpacks and provided 200 haircuts, alongside offering essential resources and referrals to local programs through partnerships with over 30 organizations, including the City of Anaheim, CalOptima Health, Higher Ground, and the Anaheim Fire Department and Police Association.

Other local nonprofits can partner in this impactful outreach by:

  • Hosting a Resource Booth: Limited spaces available; contact mmondragon1322@outlook.com.
  • Donating Supplies: Backpacks, school supplies, gift cards, and essentials
  • Sponsoring Activities: Support giveaways and activities.
  • Offering Services: Wellness, education, or financial support.
  • Volunteering: Onsite help and logistical support.

Backpacks are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, both in-person and through delivery. Nonprofits are encouraged to join this mission by donating, volunteering, or spreading the word to help ensure no child is left behind.
